Actually, the appropriate thing to be done in such cases is for people
to send their responses to the author of the message, and then for the
author to summarize the responses and repost.  This way, we meet the
dual purpose of minimizing net traffic and also ensuring that
information is as widely disseminated as possible.

This isn't a flame or anything like that, I just want to see the net
survive for as long as possible; already people are beginning to have
problems with the volume of news and are having to reduce the number
of groups that they carry.
