If you already have an RGB monitor, you can buy an Amiga 500 with a Meg of RAM and half a dozen animation programs of all types (ray-traced 3d, surface rendered 3d, cartoon style 3d, any sort of 2d, etc...) for that. It's only got mono composite output, but there's a cheap ($50) gadget to convert the RGB to hue/croma suitable for videotaping.
