Since I don't see any smiley face here, I'm assuming that this is a serious question, to which the answer (according to everything I've read on the subject) is "Yes, we're sure it doesn't stand for 'Before the C Programming Language'", although that is one of the more creative explainations I've heard so far. It really is supposed to stand for 'Basic Combined Programming Language'.
