Yes.  ELLE runs on every Unix variant that I'm aware of, including V6,
V7, BSD, SYSV, Xenix, etc.  It also runs on our TOPS-20 system.

It is simple compared with EMACS or Gnuemacs.  It is complex compared
with /bin/ed.  A recent posting from broman@bugs.nosc.mil explained how
to retrieve the sources from his site.  If you do so, I would like to
ask that you examine the 00read.me file (policy etc.) before using ELLE
as the guts for an unspecified "something else".  Thanks.
