I am not interested in the load balancing aspects, only on a performance comparison between schemes which migrate tasks once they have been started and those which do not. I was told that such a study was done using DEMOS/MP, but I am unable to find a reference which reports it. I have the 1983 SOSP article and one on DEMOS in Software, Practice and Experience, April 1987, but no comparison of the type I am after was reported. Do you know of any (reasonably available) articles which do make this comparison? -- Doug Pase -- ...ucbvax!tektronix!ogcvax!pase or pase@cse.ogc.edu (CSNet)
