Summary: Init'd TK70 tape on TK50 drive, now can't re-init on TK70! Message-ID: <457@ddsw1.UUCP> Date: 14 Jan 88 16:07:49 GMT Reply-To: karl@ddsw1.UUCP (Karl Denninger) Organization: Macro Computer Solutions, Inc., Mundelein, IL Lines: 15 Hi there, We have a TK70 tape which was 'init'd under RSTS/E on a PDP-11 (using a TK-50 drive). The tape now refuses to 'initialize' under VMS, failing with the message "Software write protect"...... How do we recover from this one? I have tried every switch to 'initialize' that made any sense, and nothing seems to change.... -- Karl Denninger | Data: +1 312 566-8912 Macro Computer Solutions, Inc. | Voice: +1 312 566-8910 ...ihnp4!ddsw1!karl | "Quality solutions for work or play"
