Try selecting the messages then extracting them to the printer.  Example:

MAIL> Select newmail
MAIL> Extract/all lcb0:   ! where lcb0 is the printer....

Not so clean but may work well for you.  This is basically the same as a

$ COPY <file name here> LCB0:
