I believe that the cause was a decision to make the 4.3 server translate incoming CRs to Newlines. This accounts for your problem (and that is why Rlogin works - it doesn't use telnetd). This has been corrected in the 4.3 source, fixes have been distributed on the "tcp-ip" list and can be FTP'ed from ucbarpa.berkeley.edu (I may actually mean "ucbvax", there). The file is "ucb-fixes.tar.Z". Of course, that doesn't help you unless you have source for your Sun. Did you call us and ask us that question? James VanBokkelen FTP Software Inc.
