I know that after writing checks to some stores, they want my SSN when I say I don't have a credit card. I've outright refused a coupla times, but usually I give it to avoid hassle. I was under the impression that the SSA wouldn't give any info about you to anyone but a federal agency. How correct is this assumption? Daryl Biberdorf
