I haven't seen the original ref'ed article in its entirety yet but think I can
comment on ^^^^.

Colour is only an _indicator_, as is country of manufacturer and brand name
(or lack of it). Are all Sony disks manufactured in Japan with equal quality
controls? I can't say, I've not seen beige Sony's for instance.
