Note that I run under the APW shell. My observation is that numerous GS users are enthralled with the Finder, just as I was initially, because of the nice pictures, pull down menus, and mouse interface. Then I realized how much it was slowing me down. An interesting tangential issue I have been wrestling with: I am working on an application of fairly significant magnitude and am now reassessing my earlier decision to use the desk top environment over the text screen mode. Does a mouse on a desktop REALLY lead to improved productivity? My current feeling is that desktops are great for novices and the occassional user, but so-called power users probably achieve more without the mouse and desktop "niceties".
