Prodos 8 and Prodos 16 are similar, but not directly compatible. If you need to run a Prodos 16 application, you almost certainly won't be able to run it under Prodos 8. The calls will be different for the application, and the processor, of course, will be in 16-bit native as opposed to emulation mode. -Russell Buyse.
