That the highlights of the panel discussion were provided by Cary Lu raises a seldom mentioned point: Of all the heavily hyped writers about the Macintosh (Doug Clapp and John Dvorak come to mind) only Cary Lu has consistently shown intelligence, insight, and understanding in his work. His willingness to discuss the tough issues that Apple faces while it attempts to bury its head in the NASDAQ sand underscores the integrity that the guy has brought to the profitable and childish field of consumer microcomputers.
