I have received a lot of feedback on it, and want to thank those people that have responded. Armed with my newly acquired information, I brought my Mac in to be repaired. The shop had it for a week, did nothing to it save bench testing, and came up with a result of "Well, that's the way it's supposed to work; they all do that!". I argued with them to no avail. So, the Mac is back on my desk, with exactly the same problem it had a week ago. Several people have replied to me about a third-party replacement fan that fixes both the noise and screen-jitter problem. I asked the shop tech. if he would install this fan if I purchased it. He refused, and I don't feel confident enough to do it myself. By the way, he mumbled something about a replacement/upgrade fan from the manufacturer, and said my SE had it. I tend to doubt that, since it is still loud, and the screen is still shaky. Since the repair shop professes ignorance, I appeal to you net-people that have had your SEs fixed - can you recommend a shop in the Boston/southern New Hampshire area that knows how to perform a fix properly? I'm getting desperate! Thanks in advance for any and all help! Rich Long
