In particular I am interested in timing and MFLOPS in solving a system of 1,000 linear equations in 1,000 variables (Ref. Table 6 ''Toward Peak Performance'' in "Performance of various computers Using standard linear equations software in a fortran environmment" by J.J. Dongarra, Argonne National Laboratory Tech. Mem. 23, November 1987). In the same report the Sequent Balance 21000 with 30 processors is rated at 1.5MFLOPS. advTHANKSance ######################################################################### # Renato De Leone # # arpa : deleone@cs.wisc.edu # # UUCP : {allegra,seismo,ihnp4}!uwvax!deleone or deleone@uwvax.UUCP # # na : na.deleone@score.stanford.edu # # Telephone: (608) 263-2677 # # Telephone: (608) 262-5083 # # Telephone: (608) 233-4120 (home) # #########################################################################
