If by "old-style 1108 display" you mean the boxy 17" screen that sits on a large
pedestal and has a slider pot for a brightness control (as opposed to the more
streamlined 17" display with curved sides that came with the Carnation
low-profile keyboard), then I can provide only a glimmer of a clue.  This is an
HD-17 CRT, made by Ball Brothers, Ball Electronic Display Division.  I have the
name of an engineer, Al Wielenberg, and a phone number, 612/786-8900, which
didn't work the last time I tried calling them.  I *think* they went out of
business.  I have been unable to find a schematic for these monitors myself,
even right here within Xerox.  Sigh.
