Message-ID: <8801131528.AA06851@sandoz.dana.ether> Date: 13 Jan 88 15:28:12 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The ARPA Internet Lines: 28 I have not seen anything in the xtensions mailing list for a while and in particular was wondering what the current status of the double buffering and input extension proposals are. We are planning on supporting some form of each of these extensions. We are willing to: produce proposals, and/or implement the C X-lib interface and device independent portion of the server extension) If necessary we will develop our own extensions (and make them available to anyone interested) but we would rather work with others who are seriously interested in these areas. Currently I have seen proposals from DEC, Sun (Dave Rosenthal) and Stellar and comments/counter proposal from Bob Scheifler. How do each of these stand with regard to each other? Is any one of these more favoured than the others? Is every company really going to offer its own private extensions for these obviously needed functions? Please mail any information either to me directly, this mail group or to xtensions. Mark Patrick Ardent Computer hplabs!dana!mlp
