Lines: 21 I was wondering why the uucp maps posted to comp.mail.maps have such long expiration periods, about a month and a half. It seems to me that if someone is using the maps, they'll extract them within a week or so, and not need the articles anymore. If they aren't using the maps, they don't need the articles at all, and certainly not for a month and a half. Do people use the maps in such a way that they do need the articles for a long period of time? I realize I can explicitly expire the maps ignoring the expiration date. However, if everyone has to do this, might it not make more sense to not have the expiration dates in the first place? This isn't meant as a flame, I'm just curious as to why the maps have the explicit expiration date. -- Brian L.
