This is probably the right answer. The news report I heard said the satellite was in a permanent position over Lebanon. That means geosynch orbit (if we believe the report) and as I understand it photo recon sats are in low orbits, not geosynch. This would imply electronic interception. Another posting mentioning the Israli RPV also make a great deal of sense. Of course the info might just as well have come from a spy or a leak inside Lebanon. Leaking a story that we could spot Waite's movement from a satellite might just be an effective bit of propaganda to keep the Lebanese off guard.
