I'd like to do the same thing, and I had an idea:
When *playing* a tape on my VCR, I can pause the picture and then advance
the picture one frame at a time.
This frame-advance feature is locked out during recording; but do you suppose
there is a way to enable it, and  do frame-at-a-time recording?
