Hang on here a second, you dweeb!  It's not the IV drug abuse, it's the
conditions that it's abused in.  Any why?  Try because needles aren't sold
over the counter (if they were .25/each, disposable, people might be
inclined to take the precaution of using a *new* needle). 

I could go on, but why bother.....
