Message-ID: <3572@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu> Date: 3 Feb 88 21:45:26 GMT Reply-To: sparks@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu (Steve Gaarder) Organization: Computer Aided Design Instructional Facility, Cornell Univ. Lines: 15 Here at Cornell we have a large ethernet spanning several buildings and supporting several protocols - tcp/ip, decnet, possibly xns, and who-knows-what else. I would like to connect several IBM pcs running Novell Netware via the same cable. In theory, this shouldn't cause any interference, but people here are a little paranoid. So: has anyone out there had any trouble with Novell sharing the ethernet with anything else? I'm not talking about intercommunication between Novell and the other, just non-interference. Please Email replies if possible; I'll summarize. -- Steve Gaarder Cornell University, 171 Hollister, Ithaca NY 14853 607-255-5389 UUCP: {cmcl2,shasta,rochester,uw-beaver}!cornell!batcomputer!sparks BITNET: sparks@crnlthry.BITNET ARPA: sparks@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu
