Dear Netlanders:
	I have a question that has been nagging me for a while: if I
run a shell in a GNU  window, why is it that if I try to run tip (or
telnet) in that shell window, I can get the program to run but I
cannot do anything useful with it, except kill it?
I use GNU Emacs version 17.62.1 on Ultrix v2.0, MicroVAX II.
