  while this may be a little too obvious i would suggest
you give Megatek a ring as they have an implementation of PHIGS
that runs on all sorts of hardware.  a good introductory article on 
PHIGS was featured in the Nov/87 issue of Byte.
  also, Apollo's GMR3D has very many PHIGS-like features and if you
are considering Apollo give this a look.
