Lines: 22 Bjoern, If you are starting a multi-year project, I recommend in the strongest terms dissociating yourself from the IBM-PC/Intel architecture and Microsoft's products at the beginning. I am currently programming in the OXXI Benchmark Modula-2 compiler, which has a beautifully integrated development system using micro-gnu-emacs (you can edit, compile, link and test without leaving emacs) with full, documented access to the AmigaDOS multi-processing, message passing, window oriented operating system. It is like being in love! I'm sure that there are several other well integrated systems out there, but I'm convinced none of them will ever come from Microsoft or IBM, their records speak too strongly against it. Good luck with your project, and keep us informed how it goes! Thanks, Kent, the man from xanth.
