Each node runs its own instance of a kernel. Interesting features of the OS is support of high speed communication links to adjacent nodes, dual processor support (we have TWO CPUs on each node and they are not the same CPU!). We also have multilayered communications which are accessible to applications. Future work: distributed operating systems, distributed filesystems (any ideas of what to do with a hypercube of filesystems?).
