Well, for starters, the catalogue says that a DMF32 has only one sync. port,
not two, so if you have two boards then you have two sync. ports, not four.
If you were told otherwise, you may wish to speak sharply to your sales
rep.

Second, do you have anything plugged into the ports in question?  I presume
that DMF32 initialization at boot time is very like that for the DMB32,
and a DMB32 sync. port is *not* configured unless it seems to be connected
to something.  (We found this out the hard way, after hours of fiddling
with DECnet and a call to Colorado!)
