How fast can they digitize a video signal as a monochrome 640 x 400 frame? Monochrome 320 x 200? Color? Most importantly - can they be used with a genlock, and can the digitizing function be incorporated into a user program? The group I work in likes to show videos, and we would like to have the ability to overlay graphics on the video signal as well as do spiffy titles, so an Amiga with genlock is one way to go. Another way is to buy $10,000 worth of Time Base Correctors and Video Mixers - so the Amiga even looks cost-effective. A video mixer can do split screens, which would be nice, but an Amiga can (I hope, and this is what I'm asking) grab a video frame, threshold it to 1 bit plane and overlay it on incoming video. This is why I'm looking for a frame grabber or digitizer that works with a genlock and can be controlled by an application program. -- Stuart Ferguson (shf@well.UUCP) Action by HAVOC (shf@Solar.Stanford.EDU)
