With the A2620 (MMU included), UNIX would be trivial. If one wanted UNIX for the sake of UNIX, no problem at all. But if you wanted any hope of running ANY software you have now, this is not trivial. It's a huge pain/can of worms. Just what would you do with a UNIX that doesn't support the world of the Amiga? Would you be willing to have UNIX and no software. Well to be fair, you could /etc/shutdown and reboot a game. What would you do with the graphics, the sound, the, the.... Pretty heavy context switch, if you ask me. You could reinvent every application that currently exists for the Amiga! ACK! Or you could have a UNIX that is compatable! You know, run everything you have now! What a challenge! I would love to grapple with that one, just to see it done right. You know, the ultimate form of compatabitilty, run a game with realtime graphics, sound, controller response! Screw the reboot. Now that's the kind of UNIX I would like to see!!!! Or am I flashed off. Am I the ONLY person on the face of this planet that feels this way?
