Transactor Magazine had cashed my check, but no mag had arrived in my mailbox yet. Because of the reports that people were reading these already, I was getting itchy yesterday as I walked home, wondering when I would get to read the magazine. Well, lo and behold, it had come that day and was sitting on the table just waiting to be read. I therefore assume that the other magazines are in the mail. My guess as to why they are so late is the Canadian mail system. Having lived in Montreal several years ago, I have had some experience with slow mail (and mail strikes) in Canada (well, at least in Quebec), so it really doesn't surprise me that it took awhile for the magazine to reach my house. Maybe there is a different reason...the above is only a guess. Anyhow, I must say that I enjoyed the first issue. There were many interesting articles; I especialy enjoyed the one on CAOS by Andy Finkel. If only it had been implemented, there wouldn't be so much grief switching between UNIX in the day and AmigaDOS at night [now, how to I move up the directory tree again...is it "cd /" or "cd .." ? ;-]. And yes, I also believe that the best programming insights come after 2:00am and lotsa pizza (a good beer will do wonders too! ;-) -Chris -- Chris Lishka /lishka@uwslh.uucp Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene <-lishka%uwslh.uucp@rsch.wisc.edu "What, me, serious?
