There are two ways that I know of to interface an IBM HD with an Amiga 1000, these may also work with a 500. The first one is to use the CLtd box with an ST506-SCSI converter card, this will work fine. The other is a card and software put out by Palamax. You build your own card that will allow for the use of IBM controllers (ie Omnti, western digital, etc) and subsequently IBM hard drives. With the palamax card you can also use RLL controllers, hence getting 50% more space from your disk. Hope this helps.
