There is a copy of a program called "compress" which was
ported to the Apollos from a generic Unix system in the
ADUS library. This program both compresses and uncompresses
files. I have it running on our Alliant FX/1 (Apollo DSP9000)
and our Apollos. You can get a copy of the program via e-mail
by sending the message "send compress from apollo" to
"netlib@anl-mcs.arpa" (Argonne National Labs online software
library).
