Indeed WordPerfect version 1.1 for the //e and //c has a text in
and text out feature which is easy to access.  (I believe that
version 2.0 for the GS does as well.)  I've been using 1.1 for several
months and, while it isn't the fastest word processor, it is the one
I seem to boot most often.  (The MS-DOS version is my program of
choice for the IBM.)
