I > don't think it was ever released. The Atari XEP80 80 column display for the 8 bit series has been shipping commercially for a couple of months in the US. It does exist. The XEP80 provides a monochrome 80 column display on a "typical" monochrome monitor. It also provides a parallel printer port.
