     The genst assembler you have is a pre release version of the one

in HiSoft's DevpakST.  The only way you are going to get a higher version
is to buy it. This also explains how you can get the documentation.
     To define a constant string do this:
     
            dc.b 'this is a constant'
     
     The screen assembly listing drops you back to your file whenever you
  hit a key.
