PLEASE!!!  Spare me!!!  The word, despite the official mis-spelling of
the CBM Corp., is "kern-E-l".  Since the sequence -E- is awkward to type,
however, most dictionaries list it as just "kernel".  (That's a joke, in case
it escaped you.)
