An unexpected bonus: I ended up getting a >1040STfm. > OK -- Here we go... We have had a lot of experience here at Planetary Science buying ST lately...they make great pieces of lab equipment. One of the people here at the lab recently (Dec) bought a 1040ST thru Lyco. He payed a great price (around 650 for mono). Now in January another fellow in the lab decides to get a 1040 from Lyco. Current cost: $850 What happened? Well, sources (from within Lyco and other mail order houses) tell us that Lyco had been getting its STs "illegally." Atari found out, and now if you try and order from Lyco, their costs are the same as everywhere else, and you have to wait three months. What does "illegally" mean? Your guess is as good as mine.
