does anybody else beside me find the advertisement megamax has been running
in the magazines incredibly irritating?  you know what i mean, the quote
from a review which goes something like "Don't even *think* about buying
any other C compiler for the ST!!", extracted from a review in Antic (of
course) something like *two years* ago.  sheesh....

one more tidbit - when i was still writing regularly for ST Applications,
i got strung along for a couple of months by the megamax marketing weenies,
being told that a beta release of their new compiler (they hadn't yet 
coined the name Laser C) would be in the mail to me the next day.  they
were hoping to get included in a semi-comprehensive benchmark i did.  of
course it never did come.  this was around last august...  so don't send 
in your checks yet, kiddies.  at 5-1/4 percent interest on that upgrade 
money you could build a nice IRA.
