This machine has provided faithful service for a number of years and I don't want to see it left behind by all those 80286 and 80386 based machines! This machine uses the standard 4.77 MHz 8088 chip and I would like to install an 80286 or 80386 based accererator card in it. However the machine is not completely IBM-compatible (maybe around 99%!) and the occasional item doesn't work with it. For example, about a year ago I tried to install the Orchid Tiny Turbo accelerator card and my baby just went out to lunch! One of my colleagues who has a true blue IBM PC was the happy recipient of the Tiny Turbo! So I would appreciate hearing from anybody who has successfully installed an accelerator card in a Sperry Portable and can tell me which card I should attempt to get. Thanks.
