Well, I just got a replacement fan from a local Apple dealer (Dartmouth College). It was $43, not $100 as some claimed. It included $14 for fan, $14 for some kind of replacement for video board, and labor. Surely it is a lot quieter than the old one: I am satisfied, but I can occasionally see screen jitter, though. By the way, it is NOT covered by Apple Care. Yet, I would definitely recommend any people who use SEs in a quiet environment (home, for example) since I don't have to turn the stereo on in order to cover up the noise from the fan. Also, if it is $43 outside the college environment (I forgot to ask whether it is discount rate for the college, but I don't think we have 40% discount for hardware repair), it is actually cheaper than the 3rd party fans for SE that others have mentioned.
