The reason that RamSDOpen() is returning -98 when trying to open the
printer port is probably because the printer port is configured for
use with AppleTalk; consult the Serial Manager chapter of Inside Mac
volume II for more details.

There's a low-memory global called PortBUse, the bits in which tells you
what port b's being used for...
