We have a client that would rather use the VT340 instead of an Intercolor. The Intercolor uses a variation of the ASCII escape sequences to set foreground and background colors for a field. We would like to know if an escape sequence such as ^[[34;40m would work for the VT340. I couldn't find anything in the VT340 manuals that mentioned color for the non-graphics character mode. We don't have a VT340 and the local DEC distributors will not let us have one for evaluation. (I guess they sell every one they make.) If anybody does know of a way to get colors in the character mode would you please send me the escape sequence format? If I get enough 'me toos' I'll summarize to the net after a bit. I'll gladly accept RTFMs if you give me the page number, otherwise I'll just insult your lineage. I recall seeing, a month or so ago, a request for opinions on the VT340. Did I miss the summary of the answers? -- Joe Earley, Modular Mining Systems USENET: {ihnp4,allegra,cmcl2,hao!noao}!arizona!modular!earley INTERNET: modular!earley@arizona.edu
