The problem I have is that no matter where I put .Xkeymap and .Xdefaults, the initial login window (run by getty) seems not to read them. My .Xkeymap maps the "`" key to escape, and this works fine except on the initial login window. I've tried putting .Xkeymap in /, and in /etc, and a few other places I could think of. Has anyone got an answer for this? It's annoying to have to keep my login window iconified and off in a corner because the keyboard isn't what I want. ----- Charley Kline, University of Illinois Computing Services kline@uxc.cso.uiuc.edu kline@uiucvmd.bitnet {ihnp4,uunet,pur-ee,convex}!uiucuxc!kline
