It occurs to me that if gateway systems between say, europe and usa
or Australia and usa were to carry a special newsgroup, say,
to.USA, then a posting could be cross posted between a european
news-group (or australian), carried over the gateway on the specially
designated one and released on the usa one. e.g.
here in OZ we have aus.jokes, in the usa there is rec.humour (which we
cannot get). but if munnari and some usa site had a group TO.USA
then I could give post to aus.jokes, TO.USA, rec.humour
and It would be the equivalent of making a specific request that an
article be exported. Since the article needs more work this way,
The rest of our violently anti-american jokes 8-) would not get
passed to the usa.
(and costs would be kept down)
comments?? sorry about the delay.. we seem to be running with about
a 1 month delay here in Western Australia.
