This week's speaker will be Hazel Everett.  The meeting will be held in
Wallberg 144 from 11:00-12:00 on Thursday, February 4.  

Hazel will be speaking about "Shape from Probing".  
This talk will describe the contents of a paper
by Cole and Yap which describes a new problem in robotics: how to
determine the shape and position of an object using probes. 
For convex polygons they show an elegant method for solving this
problem using 3n probes and prove this is optimal.

Volunteers for providing food are still sought, for both this and
subsequent meetings.
