Novell does not itself distribute TCP/IP. The reason for the confusion was that Novell WAS investigating the possibility of distributing a TCP/IP implementation, but decided to drop it. TCP/IP is available either as a gateway implementation (IPX/SPX on one side of the gateway, TCP/IP on the other) or with each workstation using both protocols simultaneously. Novell fully supports and encourages both types of implementation under its Open Protocol Technology (OPT) strategy. (How's that for a marketing statement?)
