I have received VMS 4.7 from DEC Software Services however, they forgot to send VMS 4.6 Having complete confidence in DEC, I waited for them to send 4.6 until it was to late. Now, my sales rep says they have 'archived' 4.6 and I can only get pieces instead of the entire kit. They have been kind enough to xerox the 4.6 release notes, and field service has given me two tapes. 4.6 and mandatory update. Fine. I installed them both on a 8700 (new) and wanted to make a standalone backup on the ra81 disk. The upgrade says to refer to 'Guide to Software Installation' I did and low and behold, my VMS 4.4 G.t.S.I. does not have any info about an 8700. Question: Did 4.6 include new manuals or updates to manuals as I suspect it did? Has anyone heard of VMS being archived and undistributable to a customer? I am about fed up with the whole deal. Any suggestions ? Thank You, Scott J. Allen Scott@GUVAX
