I defended EDT at that session.

Obviously, given your apparent lapse of memory.  EDT was given second place
at that session, close behind EVE.  EMACS was a minor contender.

And each and every speaker, as I recall, acknowledged TECO to be the first
real DEC editor which they learned (e.g. `I was a teen-age TECO user') and
the standard of comparison when evaluating the features of their favorite
editor.  Except, of course, for the speaker who defended TECO.
