Our software service rep made a copy of the 4.6 tapes for us, and a sister site is sending a xerox of the release notes. I agree that DEC archived 4.6 entirely too soon! (Are you listening, DEC?) Building standalone backup on an RA81 is the same for all VAXen. Just use STABACKIT.COM: @SYS$UPDATE:STABACKIT device [root] 'device' is the device name of the disk (e.g. DUA0) 'root' is the name of the system root (e.g. [SYSE]) to use Note that if you don't specify the root, STABACKIT will use SYSE if you're building S/A backup on the system disk, and sys0 otherwise.
