Since my colleagues have switched to laser printers for just about everything, but I still have programs that produce long raster files for direct output to versatecs, I am reduced to begging for spare parts or unwanted machines to cannibalise. If you have an unwanted versatec gathering dust behind the laser printers, please write to me at richard@calvin.ee.cornell.edu or {cmcl2,shasta,uw-beaver,rochester}!cornell!calvin!richard I use the versatec for greyscale image generation. I'd be interested in talking to anyone else who is into that kind of thing. It really annoys me that I have to wait 10 mins a page to download the raster to a laser printer when I could see it in 30 seconds if the versatec was working!
